  • Assassination of Archduke Francis, Ferdinand

    This was when Ferdinand got killed by a 19 year old. This is important because it ignited the Great War.

    This event was where reformers were against World War I. This is important because not everyone in America wanted war.

    The Lusitania was torpedoed bya German U-boat. This is important becuase it angered Americans, and quickened them to war.

  • Battle of Verdun

    The Battle of Verdun was the longest and one of the bloodiest battles in World War 1.It was important becuase it was a symbol of French determination.

  • Battle of Jutland

    The battle was considered to be the major naval battle of World War 1. It's important to Great Britain because they fought and won.

  • Russia's Government Overthrown

    Russia's Bolshevik Revolution took place as forces led by Vladimir Lenin overthrew the provisional government. This is important because it helped found the Bolshevik Party.

  • Points to Peace

    Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points to Peace was basis for a peace program and it was on the back of the Fourteen Points that Germany and their allies agreed to armistice. This is important becuase it showed hope encouraging the Central powers to end the hostilities

    The Treaty of Versaillles was a peace settlement between Germany and the Allied Powers. This is important becuase the treaty ended World War 1.
