Japan invaded Manchuria. They did this in order to gain Manchurias land.

Hitler becoms Chancellor

Jan 30, 1933

Hitler was liked by the Germans so they elected him as Chancellor. He then became Chancellor and lead Germany into success.

Invasion of Ethiopia

Oct 3, 1935

Italy invaded Ethiopia in order to obtain their land. Benito Mussini got Hitlers plan to expand Germany and got Ethiopia before Germany did.

Munich Conference

Sep 29, 1938

Great Britain, France, and Italy allowed Germany to annex Czechoslovakia. They handed it over to Germany for peace.

Kristallnacht

Nov 9, 1938

Known as The Night of Broken Glass. Almost 200 Synagogues were destroyed and tens of thousands of Jews were forced into concentration camps.

Non-Aggression Pact

Aug 23, 1939

Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union signed a pact to take no military action against one another for 10 years. It deleyed Germany's invasion to the Union and gave the SOviet Union time to prepare.

Invasion of Poland

Sep 1, 1939

German invaded Poland and this started World War 2. Germany invaded only a few days after signing the Non-Aggression Pact.

Invasion of France

May 10, 1940

France was invaded over the Alps. Primary goal of Germany was to conquor France.

Battle of Britain

Jul 10, 1940

Military campaign for the second World War. It was and air battle.

Pearl Harbor

Dec 7, 1941

Japenese planes attacked Pearl Harbor, a naval base. The U.S. entered WW2 the next day.

Stalingrad

Sep 23, 1942

Hitler and the Nazi's were headed to Moscow, but Hitler had his eye on Stalingrad, because it had Stalin's name in it and also it served as an industrial city that supplied the army with their artillery and goods. They attacked the city and were fighting street to street, building to building, room to room, until they eventually pushed the Soviets 100yds from the Volga River. Winter set in and Stalin sent his troops into the city and encircled Germans, blocking off their food, starving them.

Also known as D-Day. The American and British invasion of France in World War II.

May 8, 1945

Victory in Europe day. This is the day Nazis surrendered its armed forces.

Atomic bombings of Japan.

Aug 6, 1945

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed. The United States and the allies attacked Japan.

V-J Day

Aug 14, 1945

The day Japan stopped fighting in WW2. The offical name is victory day.
