  • Night of the broken glass

    One Jewish youth killed a Germany diplomat because he was upset that his father was sent to Poland for deportation. This made Nazi leaders angry. And they started to attack the Jewish community. This event is known as the Night of the Broken Glass because a lot of glass was broken because of the attack.
  • Plan Z

    A 5-year naval expansion program known as Plan Z was intended to provide for a huge German fleet capable of crushing the Royal Navy by 1944. It was the first time that the naval program got top priority.

    French leaders surrendered to Germany because Germany crushed resistence in France and occupied Paris. After France surrendered to Germany, the war became harsh for the Allied. Turning point: Allies loses power.

    Japan attacked America without letting them. The Pearl Harbor was attacked. Many Americans died because they were not expecting Japan's attack. This caused America to join the war. Turning point: America joins the war.

    German lost lost this battle against Russia because of the cold weather. They became defensive with the soviets. Turning point: German starts to lose power.
  • D Day

    The plan of the Allied to take back France from Germany. This plan was carefully devised in order to win the war. By September, they liberated France. France could help the Allied once more.

    Germany surrendered on May 7, 1945. This was the end of World War II. Turning point: Germany surrenders and the war ends.
