    Hitler, Chamerlian, Daladier of France, and Mussolini of Italy had a meeting in Munich and they all agreed that Hitler should have the Sudentland of Czech. No one representing the Czechs and then they realized no country would help them they were forced to surrender to Germany. Hitler signed a paper that proclaimed. "peace in our time".

    German and Italian troops attacked Yugoslavia, Greece and the island of Crete. German field Marshall Erwin Rommel led the axis powers back to North Africa.

Germany and Italy agreed to join allies and the germans took control of the Italian army. The germans also freed Mussolini from imprisonment and set him up as head of a puppet government in Northern Italy. And that blocked allied advance through Italy.

    In Normady, Western France Allies attacked Germany. Thousands of transports carried an invasion army under the supreme command of general Eisenhower to the Normandy beaches. The Germans who had been fed false information about a landing near Calais, rushed troops to the area but were unable to prevent the allies from forming a solid bridgehead. IT was essential for the allies to capture a first port.
