    The first concentration camp is opened in Oranienburg outside Berlin. Nazis began a systematic roundup of political opponents known as the anti-Nazis. There were so many arrests that conventional prisons quickly became overwhelmed so concentration camps were built to punish those who defied the Nazi government.
