Great Britain and France made a pact with Poland stating that they would declare war if it was ever invaded, so they declared war on Germany.

Japan attacks Pearl Harbor

On December 7, Japan dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and killed thousands of young soldiers.

Germany surrenders

Germany's opponents had superior technology, and Germany was running out of supplies and men. It had to surrender.

Allies use atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki

Finally, in an attempt to end the war, the Allies dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This did, in fact, win the war for the allies.

United Nations formed
