Werner Heisenberg (Dec 5 1901- Feb 1 1976)

By Igorzag
  • Born

Werner Heisenberg born on December 5th 1901 in the Kingdom of Bavaria, German Empire.
  • Formulating Quantum Mechanics

Werner Heisenberg a German Physicist and philosopher, Jordan Pascual and Max Born discovered a way to formulate quantum mechanics by being able to expressed by using matrix algebra. They've submitted a paper for publication on September "Zur Quantenmechanik" (On Quantum Mechanic" Ref:

  • Uncertainty Principle

Werner Heisenberg came up with the Uncertainty Principle where he states that you cannot measure a particle or objects position and velocity at the same exact time. This theory was also supported later on by Arthur Compton's experiment that descried wave-particle duality. Where a photon ca act as both a particle and a wave. Ref:

  • Nobel Peace Prize 1932

Heisenberg received the 1932 Nobel Peace prize for his work in the theory of the atomic nucleus. He developed a model for how protons and neutrons interact with each other. This concept became known as the "Strong Force" Interestingly enough Heisenberg did not receive his Nobel Peace price until a year later in November of 1933.

  • Unified Field Theory

In 1958 Werner Heisenberg proposed a theory he called the "Unified Field Theory". Some news papers would refer to it as the "World Formula". "an attempt to describe all fundamental forces and the relationships between elementary particles in terms of a single theoretical framework." This would prove unfruitful for Werner.
