  • Proclamation of 1763

    The colonists weren't allowed to go west of the Appalachian Mtns. It also stations the first standing army in the colonies without there being a war.
  • Sugar Act

    Added taxes on colonial imports
  • Currency Act

    The colonies weren't allowed to make their own money and had to use British currency
  • Stamp Act

    Every paper/document needed a stamp to show that it was bought
  • Quartering Act

    Forces the colonists to house soldiers in their homes if asked to
  • Declatory Act

    Allowed British Parliament to pass whatever laws they needed to on the colonists, regardless of their approval
  • Townshend Act

    Regulated importation of glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea
  • Boston Massacre

    A group of British troops had shot some of the colonists
  • Boston Tea Party

    Colonists tossed 342 cases of tea into the Boston Harbor
  • Intolerable Acts

    "The British government responded harshly; it closed Boston harbor to trade; modified the Massachusetts colonial charter; forbid town meetings more than once a year; called for the billeting of British troops in unoccupied private homes; provided for trials outside the colonies when royal officials are accused of serious crimes; and named a general to serve as Massachusetts' royal governor."

    Gave the French more land

    Forced the colonists to accept higher-ranking officials into their homes
