    The Trojan War was the time where there was this huge war that lasted 10 years against Troy. In this war they sent the huge horse full of Greek Warriors. After the Greek men ransacked the men, the went off with their women. This all started because they took Queen Helen.

    Odysseus was the speaker in the trojan war. He learned that the Trojan war could have been won if they would have joined forces with Achilles. This event gave Odysseus a scar that would help him be remembered by his friends. From this event we learned that Odysseus was smart and cunning.

    Lotus Eaters
    Odysseus and his men went to a mysterious island after Zeus made a huge storm.Once they made it to the island they stumbled upon the natives. They offered them free food which was suspicious, some of Odysseus’s men ate the fruit which made them want to stay on the island forever. Many men were caught by the trap, but some had to be carried or dragged back to the ship.

    Lotus Eaters Pt.2
    Odysseus knew that there were things wrong with getting free fruit. But his wit wasn’t strong enough to stop his men from eating it. Odysseus told his men to investigate the lotus flower. This is when Odysseus learned not to trust everything and everyone. This helped develop the theme because it foreshadowed him going home because the fruit was trying to stop them form wanting to go home.

    Odysseus didn’t know this was going to happen. He only went out of curiosity. He wanted to meet this cyclops to see what he had to offer and it was a huge surprise. Odysseus witnessed lots of his men die a gruesome death.

    Odysseus went to the Cyclops cage out of curiosity. Once him and his men made it to the cave then saw the Cyclops, then the cyclops became enraged causing him to kill groups of Odysseus’s men. They knew if they killed the Cyclops they wouldn’t be able to escape. So they hid behind a sheep then stabbed the Cyclops in the eye then ran back to the ship.

    Aeolus- Bag of Wind
    Aeolus gave Odysseus a bag of winds, but Odysseus never told his crew what it was. One day Odysseus’s crew got curious thinking it was a bag of silver and tore the bag open letting all the wind out. Almost at the end of the trip when they opened the bag it started a huge storm which sent them back even far. On the island they ended up on all the ships were destroyed.

    Odysseus used self control when he didn't kill his crew. Odysseus's crew learned that they need to not be as curious. Odysseus was almost home, he saw his towns lights.He lost the amount of time that he could have been home.

    They went to Circe’s hall. There they found Circe and it was Greek hospitality to few those who visit, that is when Circe added her vile addition to the food. This changed all of Odysseus’s men to pigs. Circe changed them back to men then told Odysseus that six of his men will need to be sacrificed to save everyone.

    Odysseus learned that he had to kill six of his men, this made Odysseus feel guilty because he didn’t tell his crew. Circe and Odysseus has a fling going on before Odysseus went to her hall. They lost six men from this event. This location helped develop the story by foreshadowing what will happen with the sirens.

    Sirens pt.2
    Odysseus felt guilty from this event because he knew 3 of his men were going to die. He sacrificed them so that his other men wouldn’t have to suffer a painful death. He saved his men by putting earwax in there ears, then he had them tie him to a pole so he could hear the sirens. In this event he didn’t show loyalty to his crew because he let them die with no hesitation.

    Sirens
    While at Circe island she told them that he will have to sacrifice 6 of his me. They go to the island and Odysseus put earwax in his crews ears so they wouldn't hear the sirens. He had his men tie him to the pole so he hear see how it feels. As Circe said six of Odysseus's men died.

    The Scylla is a 6 headed monster. Every time Odysseus and his crew passed they ate one of the sailors for each head. They had to swim past the Charybdis which is a big hole. The Scylla killed six of his men.

    This was important to Greek mythology because it showed two evils meaning that the hole and the Scylla was both dangerous but he had to pick one to go through. Odysseus thought he could kill the Scylla but Circe has to warn him and tell him that the Scylla is not mortal. Odysseus didn’t tell his crew because he didn’t want them to try to fight the Scylla. He had to determine if he wanted to fight the Scylla or have his whole boat swallowed.

    Odysseus learned that he can never stop watching his crew because this is the second time that his crew messed up. Odysseus maintained his self control also by not injuring his crew by any means. Odysseus's crew learned that they cannot trust everyone because they trust Eurylochus and he got them into that situation.

    Helios Cattle
    Helios is the sun god and he owned cattle. While Odysseus is sleep once again, his men go eat the cattle because Eurylochus persuaded them too. This angers the sun god which made him ask Zeus to punish Odysseus. After that Helios threatened if he does not get revenge he will take the sun to the underworld.

    Suitors/ Home
    The Suitors basically invaded Penelope's house because it was Greek law to offer food and home to those who visit. When they took over the house Penelope didn't believe her husband was coming home anytime soon. When Odysseus came home he found that out and dressed as an old man to hide who he really as. He meet up with his two trusty men and told them to get his bow. When the time came Odysseus showed that he was Odysseus was home, his wife was very upset because she missed him so much.

    In this Odysseus dressed up as an old man to hide his identity so he could pop out at the right time. His trusty friends got mad because he killed a innocent man. The men only knew it was Odysseus because of the scar he had. Odysseus maintained self control when he kept his identity secret, but he didn't show it when he killed the man by shooting an arrow at his throat.
