Sampson and MacDonald were two women who weren't aloud to enlist as soldiers so there roles in the military were to be nurses and ambulance drivers. since then women's right have improved over the years so that would make it a progression for Canada -
Jeremiah Jones and the black soldiers
this contributed to Canadian progress back in 1917 when Jeremiah Jones rescued his whole unit from machine gun nest. This was one of Canada's greatest success stories and gave Canada national pride. -
Billy Bishop and the war in the sky
Canada did not have its own air force team until the final months of world war 1. When they did finally have a team Billy Bishop became famous for all his exploits. Also Bishop go over the enemy line to attack the Germans. this would be progress for Canada considering the great results that came with it. -

The war lasted for four years and finished in november 11, 1918 -

This time frame represented new beginnings. It took place right after world war 1 ended. This was a decline for Canada because it was when all the soldiers were coming home war and the unemployment rate went up. -
The Great Depression
The Great Depression was a time period that began in the united states and spread quickly to Canada. This was a decline for Canada because the unemployment rate dropped 27% and that was the greatest decline Canada has had yet.
