American soldiers fired on several hundred Vietnamese women and children in a village called My Lai. The soldiers also did many horrible things to the girls in the village and burned the village.

The students in Kent State University protested against the bombing in Cambodia. The National Guards were ordered to ho and maintain order; they shot and killed 4 students.
