A cease fire agreement was signed in Paris so that there would be no more shooting or bombing. The war wasn't officially "over" and is supposively still going on today if the Vietcong wanted it to.

Since the war was about to end/ending the draft for American Civilians ended and no more Americans had to be drafted into the Army to go over to Vietnam .

All the troops that were still alive over in Vietnam were brought back to the states for fighting. None of them were honored with awards or appreciated.
