    The Atari 2600 was released as a home video game console. The console featured a joystick, interchangeable cartridges, and games in color. The biggest game for the console was Pac-man, but because of the bad quality of the game, a lot of players lost confidence in the console.

The release of the Playstation blew computers out of the home console video game market, Video game companies such as Sega left the home console market, and Playstation dominated the video game market. Playstation has become a top-tier video game console to this day and is revolutionizing how video games are played.

    Microsoft releases the Xbox in 2001. Games such as Halo become hits and the Xbox becomes a major competitor in the video game market. In later years, the release of the Xbox 360 gains millions of fan because of it's graphics and gameplay. Xbox and Playstation have been dominating the market, and the continue to be the two major consoles in the world.
