    -He wasn't able propose against FDR the New Deal because he was assassinated before he could do it.
  • Stock Market Crash Part B

    Return to normalcy
    Warren Harding's "return to normalcy (meaning life before ww1) because "America first" campaign which encouraged industrialization and a strong economy , independent of foreign influence.
    Harding supported the idea of isolationism
    He wanted the U.S to focus on pace production and prosperity (better life)
    Bank Run-when a large number of customers of a bank or another financial institution withdraw they deposit simultaneously due to concerns about the banks solvency.

    Tension grew towards immigrants and migrant workers both Mexican and European due to the lack of jobs and dust bowl
    After a certain amount o time during the depression, U.S stopped allowing immigrants into the country
    The police stopped deporting Mexicans and European immigrants and some rare occasions farmers in the south were deported because they were mistaken for immigrant.

  • 20th Amendment

    The 20th Amendment was to move the inauguration up for February to January, so two presidents will not be in office at the same time. This period is called the "lame duck" period.
    "lame duck" is an elected official whose time in an office or position will soon end and does little as the president.
  • AAA (Agricultural Adjustment Act)

    its purpose was to help farmers by reducing production of stable crops, taxes forced farmers to cut amounts they marketed

    this was roosevelts reform of the "New Deal"

    He tried to stabilize the economy and provide jobs and relief to those who were suffering and aimed to restore some measure of dignity and prosperity to many Americans Though this deal The Federal government helped to care for dependent childrens and the disabled, and the federal government built dams along the Tennessee river that controlled flooding and generated inexpensive hydroelectric power for the people in the area.

    The bill was to increase the number of U.S Supreme court justices then to bring in several justices who would change the balance of opinion on the court
    Roosevelt failed many times at attempting to pass the law its failure exposed the limits of Roosevelt abilities to pass legislation
  • Dust Bowl

    Human causes-Farmers have been tilling the great plains, cutting the grasses covering the topsoil
    Natural Causes-Drought dried up crops, which turned soil into dust
    Result of causes-lasting for a decade, heavy winds carried topsoil hundreds of miles, burying homes and destroying harvest
    Effects-Not able to grow enough to pay their bills, farmers were forced to abandon their farms.Many farmers moved west to California, and found work as "farm hands"
