  • Proclamation of 1763

    This proclamation did not allow colonist to settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. The british government feared the conflict between colonist and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not afford to pay British troops to defend the western lands. Colonists were enraged by this proclamation beacuse they felt they had won the right to settle in the Ohio River valley after winning the French and Indian War.

  • Quartering Act of 1765

    The Quartering Act requiers colonists to house British soldiers and provide the soldiers with supplies. They needed more revenue and wants colonists to help pay the debt.
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act commercials all documents that must carry an offical stamp. Stamp shows a tax has been paid. merchants boycott british goods.
  • Boston tea Party/Tea Act

    The Tea Act gives Britain control over American tea trade. They still had to pay tax on tea. Protest against the Tea Act and threw 342 chests of tea into the ocean.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts were a serious of laws inforced by Parliment in 1774, to punish massachusetts colonists for the Boston Tea Party.
  • Lexington and Concord

    In Massachusetts the first battles of the American Revolution. There was a gun shot but no one new who started it.
  • Olive Branch

    A letter to king George the 3 from the Second Continental Congress.To avoid war with Britian.
  • Declaration Of Indpendence

    Declared independence from Britian.It included Benjamin Franklin,John Adams,Roger Sherman,Robert Livingston,and Thomas Jefferson.
