  • University of Iowa Dance Marathon

    University of Iowa Dance Marathon
    The University of Iowa Dance Marathon was the first philanthropic event to kick of 2011. It is the largest student run organization on campus, and members of the Greek Community from all chapters participate in Dance Marathon. The organization raises money and support for children battling cancer and their families. Dance Marathon donates a lot of money to the Univeristy of Iowa Children's Hospital.   • Alpha Phi Data Match

    Alpha Phi Data Match
    The women of Alpha Phi Sorority raise money for the American Heart Association with their Data Match event. During this event, members of the Greek Community pay to fill out a survey describing their likes and dislikes, and the women of Alpha Phi match them with similar interests. Alpha Phi also raises money for the Alpha Phi Foundation's Forget-Me-Not Fund, which gives money for scholarships and women in need. (Photo by Laurel Benson)

    Alpha Chi Omega's Mr. Alpha Chi Pageant

    Delta Gamma's Anchor Splash

    Kappa Alpha Theta and Phi Kappa Psi's 3-v-3 Basketball Classic
    The men of Phi Kappa Psi and the women of Kappa Alpha Theta pair together annually for a 3 verse 3 basketball tournament to raise money for CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocates.     Alpha Epsilon Phi's Jazz on the Rocks Silent Auction
    Jazz on the Rocks is a silent auction put on by the women of Alpha Epsilon Phi. They auciton off items donated by Iowa City businesses and other organizations, and the money they raise goes to the Elizabeth Glazer Pediatric Aids Foundation, an organization to help research cures and prevent pediatric aids.     Alpha Xi Delta's Puzzle Palooza
    In Alpha Xi Delta's Puzzle Palooza, participant teams are given a time limit to see how quickly they can put together a puzzle. If the team, succeeds, they move on to the next round until there is only one team left. Puzzle Palooza raised money for Autism Speaks, and anyone of the University of Iowa campus can participate.     Sigma Chi's Derby Days
    Sigma Chi Derby days consists of a week of events, through September 30th, where sorority women from all chapters compete against eachother in sand volleyball, track and field events, and slip and slide competitions. It is one of the biggest fraternity philanthropies, and the money raised at Derby Days is donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
