The Great Awakening was important because it caused people to see that they should be religious and spirual.What led up to the evnt were people thought they they weren't being religious enough, During the event the ministers had revivals and talked about religion. French and Indian War
The French and Indian War was important because they were fighting over land. The colonists didn't like it because after the war they both had to british safe and also they had debt. After the war the British passed a law that said the french had to leave. -
The Proclamation of 1763
This event was important because it banned british clonial settlement west of the Appalchian Moutnians creating a dividing line between colonial and indian lands. Leaders feared that more fighting would take place on the frontier of colonists. -
Sugar Act
The Sugar Act is important because it was how Britain made money. They needed money to pay for army-taxed, coffee, wine, sugar, and molases. Colonists were mad because Samual Adams said it was illegal because the colonists made taxes. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was important because it changed the way people spent their money. When colonists failed to suggest any suitable ideas, the Stamp Act was proposed. The prime minister heard complaints of the Sugar Act. They sold stamps and required them to pay stamps and taxes on items. Colonists started protesting the act immediatly. -
Townshend Acts
The Townshed Acts were important becuase they were trying to resot their power. The Townshed Acts refers to a set of taxes passed by Parliament in 1767 after the Stamp Act caused rebellion and riots on both sides of the Atlantic. During this event there were imported good such as glass, lead, paint, and paper. The Americans didn't by not buying British goods. After the event it caused the colonists to riot, which had led right to the Revolutionary War. -
Boston Massacre
This event was important because it started to use propoganda against the British. Boston saw that presence of british troops as a threat by the British government against its critics in Massachusetts. During the event three ships loaded with British tea arrived in Boston Harbor in November 1773. The sons of liberty demanded that the ships leave without unloading the cargoes. -
Tea Act
The Tea Act was important because in 1773 Act that gave a monopoly on tea sales to the East India Company. In other words, American colonists could buy no tea unless it came from that company. What led up to the event was that the Tea act happened because of Britain needing money to pay for the French & Indian war. They taxed colonists and when they refused to pay, Britain ran out of money. The king bought this tea hoping to sell it to the colonists for very cheap, but also taxing them. -

After the Boston Tea Party there were arrests, trails, jail sentences, and riots, that was called the American Revolution. -
Tea Act (2)
After the event the colonists stole tea from one of the boats, and dumped it into the harbor as a political movement to show the British that the don't need them. The Boston citizens dressed up like Mohawk indians and attacked the tea ships. They even dumped all of the tea into the ocean. Britain was outraged and made the intolerable act. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party is important because it shows how much the colonists didn't like the Tea Act. Massachusetts had been enduring the intolerable acts and suffering under the many taxes that were imposed by the king. These taxes and unfair laws were putting the citizens at great unrest, but they for the most part did not consider revolution at this time. During the event Boston had been protesting about the tax on tea, citizens had boarded ships in the Boston Harbor to throw tea overboard. -
Intolerable Acts
Intolerable Acts was important the Intolerable Act was passed by the Parliament in 1774 to punish colonists in Maddachusetts for the Boston Tea Party, What caused Intolerable Acts was the Boston Tea Party. During the event laws passed by Great Britain because of the Boston Tea Party.
The intolerable acts was a set of laws imposed by the British for the Boston Tea Party. There were four laws. One was that no one could leave Boston until they payed for all 250 chests of tea they dumped. -

After the event After the Intolerable Acts, which consisted of the Tea Act, the Stamp Act, and the Quartering Act, the Boston Tea party happened. After this the American Revolutionary War began. -
Common Sense
Common Sense was important because it became popular because of its message and clear style. Also everyone finally understood that you shouldn't need to have a king or queen decide what your government should be like the people should have a say in it. Common Sense got more people who were undecided on which group to join, it made them join the Patriots side. Common Sense was first published anonymously on January 10, 1776, during the American Revolution. -

Common Sense, signed "Written by an Englishman", became an immediate success. With the population in the colonies they had back then it had the largest sale and circulation of any book in American history. Common Sense presented the American colonists with an argument for freedom from British rule at a time when the question of independence was still undecided. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle Of Bunker Hill was important because it shows fighting between the british and the colonists. The colonists were warned of the plant that had Boston under siege. The british were suprised to see the colonists and secured the hill. -
Battle of Lexington/Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord was important because It marked the beginning of the American Revolution. Also it had siganled freedom for the Americans from British rule. Americans could then decide if they wanted to pay the tax for tea from the King of England. Nobody knows who shot the first shot, but all we know is that it was an American. After the Battle the British Soldiers had to fight their way all the way back to Boston for over 16 miles. It took them about 8 hours to make it back. -
The Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence is important because it stated that a government exists for the benefit of the people and that all men are created equal. This was said by the thirteen American colonies on July 4, 1776. The document is regarded as the best written statement of individual rights in history. This was written because it wasn't fair that people were being treated differently than one another and explain why the colonists had a right to be against and become independent from England. -
The Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga was very important because it was the turning point in the Revolutionary War. This was when the French joined the American side. This event had happened because the British troops came down from Canada and tried to take over New England, but the Americans wanted to protect New England. They started to fight, and then the battle began. During of what happened in the battle, it marked a turning point in the Revolutionary War. The Americans had won the Battle of Saratoga. -

The event that the Battle of Yorktown ended was the Revolutionary War, because America had won it. -
Battle of Yorktown
The Battle of Yorktown was important because Yorktown was the significant British defeat that pushed England to to the bargaining table and led to the signing of a peace treaty. What led up to this event was that Americans had better leadership, America had foriegn aid, Americans new the geography better than the British, and lastly the Americand had motivation. During the event James Armistead, who was an American spy, carried on the word about what the British were doing, America won the war. -
Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was important because England gained massive amounts of land, and because France lost almost all of their land in North America. What caused the Treaty of Paris was that it officially ended the Revolutionary War. During this event the Treaty of Paris was signed on September 3, 1782. The treaty was ratified on April 17, 1783, and it officially recognized American independence. -

After it was signed what happened was that it ended the Revolutionary War, but the British had stopped fighting in February of 1783, so before the Treaty of Paris was signed.
