  • Proclamation

    This proclamation did not allow colonists to settle west Apalachian Mountains. The British goverment feared the conflict betwween the colonists and Native Americans would lead to another war. They also could not pay British troops to defend the western lands. Colonists were enraged by proclamation because they felt they had won the right to settle the Ohio River Vally after winning the French and Indian War.
  • Sugar Act

    In 1764 parliment passes the sugar act, this law placed a tax on sugar,mollasses, and other products shipped to the colonies. Coolonial merchants who often tradeded smaggled goods,reacted with anger this law caused the colonist too boycott.
  • Stamp act

    The stamp act was a law that required legal and commercial documents to carry an official stamp. People were very mad about being taxed for stamps,this was a new kind of tax for the colonies. The quartering is that the people in the army had the right to go into people's houses and they had to supply them with food and comfort.
  • townshend acts

    The Townshend Acts were a series of acts passed beginning in 1767 by the Parliament of Great Britain. They were taxes on paint, glasses,led,tea, and other goods.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Boston Tea Party is when the colonists got very angry when they put a tax on tea. They where upset because the where already mad that they taxed everything besideds some stuff, and then they put a tax on tea. And the colonists where refusing to pay tax for tea so when they shipped the tea to boston before they where going to unload the tea the colonists, decided to through the tea overboard. Which they did and got punished for.
  • The Intolerable Acts

    The Intolerable Acts were laws that King George III put on the colonists because of the Boston Tea Party. King George III said that this was there only way of paying back all the money the through into the ocean.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    The Olive Branch Petition was an attempt to avoid a war with Great Britain. A smaller group of people led by John Adams believed that war was inevitable, so both people and colonists belived in different things.
  • Declaration of Independence

    John Locke wrote a thing called the Declaration of Independence witch Thomas Jefferson drafted. Declaration of Independence was a statement that John Locke didn't want it to be the 13 colonies anymore. He wanted there state to be independant. He didn't want to be under the Britsh Empires laws and rules anymore.
