Archduke Ferdinand was shot along with his wife on June 28, 1914 while visiting injured individuals in Bosnia. Gavrilo Princip threw a bomb at Archduke and fled the scene. Many people were hospitalized due to the attack. The second opportunuity Gavrilo Princip had to get to Archduke was while he was in the bar and Archduke Ferdinand was driving by with his wife. He ran outside and shot him and his wife which both resulted in death. -
The plan failed and didn't meet expectations. The original plan was to invade and attack France and Russia before they could do anything, but the alliance managed to do it faster than the Germans. -
