    Europeans first entered Africa and were able to reach sub-Saharan Africa

  • The Virginia company landed in Jamestown

  • John Smith took over Jamestown and the settlers into line

  • out of the 400 settlers only 60 survived the starving winters

  • A group of separarists came to America in search of religious freedom. The group settled in the outside domain of the Virginia Company and, without legal permission, settled in Plymouth Bay
