Boston Massacre
Bostonians were required to house soldiers in their own homes after Britain realized that the dispatched 4,000 troops of soldiers in 1768 was a mistake. Tensions raised until March 5, 1779 when a protesting mob clashed resulting in the the death of five bostonians. -
Tea Act
This act angered colonists because even thought the new monopoly meant cheaper tea the Americans thought it was to trick them into accepting the hated tax. -
The First Continental Congress
In response of the intolerable Acts, the delegates from 12 of the 13 colonies attended the first continental congress in Philadelphia in which after months of meetings they decided to write the declaration rights and requests to parliaments.
