The Swing Era resulted in larger bands, consisting of 10 or more players. During this time period in America, the swing culture had its own style of clothing, dancing, and slang. The Swing culture was known for the "Jitterbug". This referred to the repeated and improvised gestures that were portrayed through swingin'. Swing dancing mainly consisted of improvised outbreaks of the soul.
