Second Cuban War for Independence

A poet and journalist in exile in New York, launched a revolution. Jose Martin established a organized Cuban resistance against Spain. The war ended with the U.S, France, and Spain making a treaty.

Spain Sends General to Cuba

Spain sent a general to Cuba to crush the revolt. They organized concentration camps where 300,000 Cubans were put into these camps. Disease and Illness spread in these camps.

The New York Journal published a private letter by De Lome, the Spanish Minister of the U.S. The letter criticized President McKinley.
