    Congress Adopted The Decleration of Independence
    Congress adopted the D.O.I. on July 4, 1776. The Declaration of Independence claimed freedom from Great Britan. The king declined the D.O.I. and then started the Revaloutionary War. This event is important to America because it was one of the first steps to freedom.

    Signing of the Constitution
    The Constitution of the United Statea in the surpreme law over America. Since the Constitution was adopted it has been ammended 27 times. The first three articles seperate the government into 3 branches and gives the three branches equal power. Without the Constitution there wouldn't be America.

    The Louisiana Purchase was bought from the French and doubled the size of America. The Louisiana Purchase was about 828,000,000 square miles of land. The United States paid about $11,250,000, less than $0.03 an acre. Exactly nine years after the United States bought the Louisiana Purchase the first state was established in the territory as the 18th state. This is important to U.S, history because America was growing bigger and more people could move West.

    President Jackson's bill for the Indian Removal Act passed Congress by one vote. The bill stated that all Native Americans were going to be forced to move to Oklahoma.Twenty-thousand Cherokee were forced to move and about five-thousand died along the way. This impacted America because the Native Americans were gone there was more land for cotton in the South.

    Black Tuesday hit Wall Street leaving the economy in ruins. During the Great Depression the Dust Bowl hit America because of poor farming tactics. When World War 2 started the Great Depression ended because of war efforts that made the economy better. This is important to America because it made the government get more involed with the citizens of America and it made our country stronger.

    World War 2

    World War 2 lasted for 6 years when on September 1 the Germans invade Poland. World War 2 lasted until both the Germans and the Japanese surrened. On December 11 Germany and Italy declared war with the United States and then the United States declares war on Germany and Italy. This affected America because it ended the Great Depression by making the economy better and it put America on top for worldly affairs.

    Apollo 11 Landing On Moon
    The mission plan was for two men to land on the moon and return safely back to the earth. This was the first manned aircraft landed on the moon. Apollo 11 collect samples and did other experiments while they were on the moon. Apollo 11 carried the first rock samples back to earth.

    I was born to Kelley Jefferis and Denny Jefferis on this date. I also had a 22 month old brother named DJ. I love to play softball and my favorite show is The Walking Dead. I love to laugh,smile, and make other people laugh and smile too.
  • 9/11

    9/11
    On this date two planes crashed into the Twin Towers, one into the Pentagon, and one was brought down Pennsylvania. The one that was taken down in Pennsylvania was heading to the White House but the passengers stopped the plane. Almost 3,000 people died on 9/11. The Freedom Tower is the new trading center and is 1776 feet high. This event is important to America because it made our country stronger than we were before.
