The Treaty of Paris was when the France surrendered the land to the British. The British ended up getting the land in Mississippi, meaning they had access to the Mississippi river. -

The Proclamation of 1763 was when the settlers decided there will be no settling past the Appalachian Mountains. Casing there them to have less space to settle and more conflict over land. -
Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was when the British soldiers in the colonies needed a place to live so they forced colonists to house the troops. There were protests and New York ignored the act completely, so they suspended New York's assembly. Meaning cutting off their communication. -

The Stamp Act was when Britain taxed the colonists to help pay off debt. The colonist protested and got violent and sent messages to the parlement. So the stamp act was canceled. -

The Boston Massacre was when the British soldiers and civilians got into a fight that ended in firing muskets. This started because the colonists were daring the soldiers to fire. -

The Tea Act was when the British lowered the price of tea for the colonists but the colonist still were upset on the cost because of tax. This led to the Boston Tea Party. -

So one night the colonists dressed up as Indians and sneaked aboard the ship to destroy the crates of tea and throw them in the Boston Harbor. Some tried to take tea for them self but were forced to leave it. This sparked the American Revolution. -

First Continental Congress
The First Continental Congress was the first meeting of the colonies where they went over how to get the British to notice their complaints peacefully. Which resulted in them placing "SANCTIONS" on Britain on nonimportation of British goods. -
Battle of Lexington
The battle of Lexington was when the British and the Patriots violence turned to revolt. The colonist were daring the soldiers to shoot and 1 killed boy started all the fighting. This marked to start of the war. -

The Second Continental Congress was the second meeting of the colonies where they decided to make an army and prepared for the war between them and the British. The colonists adopted the declaration of independence. -
Battle of Concord
In the Battle of Concord the British ans colonists were fighting over control over a bridge where the colonists won. This helped mark the start of the revolution. -
Olive Branch Petition
The Olive Branch Petition was when the colonist wrote to the king for help and the king left them unanswered. The colonist stuck an olive branch out and the king ruthlessly ignored it telling the colonist that they can't do things peacefuly. -
Common Sense by Thomas Paine
Common Sense by Thomas Paine was when a man named Thomas Paine wrote to the colonies saying the only thing to do is fight. It is common sense and they need to stop trying to settle things without battle and bloodshed. Causing the colonist to rethink their decision to not fight. -

The Declaration of Independence was a document that stated all of the independence and thing the Americans wanted. Which summarized the colonists motivations for independence. -

The 1783 Treaty of Paris was when the important leaders met up and signed the treaty making United States it's own country. This marked the end of the revolution. declared the Americans freedom from the British. -
Shays's Rebelion
The farmers were promised money if they fought in the revolution by the government but after the war their money was worthless. The farmers couldn't pay takes because their farms were in ruins and they had little money. They poeiltly asked the government to give them grace on taxes but they said no. So they started protests, which led to fighting. -

The Articles of constitution were made. The Articles made it so that in the future they wouldn't have to change the laws. They did this by having implied and expressed laws. This was important because it helped sustain the democracy without having to constantly change the laws -
Whiskey Rebellion
Farmers would make too much corn so to preserve it they would make whiskey ut of it. People started making too much whiskey. The government still needed money because they were till in massive debt. So they decided to tax the whiskey. But it made people angry and they started protesting and fighting. This was important because Washington had to show the people who was boss and show them that protesting will not make the president give in. And that the president was strong. -
XYZ Affair
The XYZ Affair was when America had made a treaty with France and betrayed them by also making a treaty with Britain. Britain stated attacking their ships and they didn't have any allies to turn to. -
War of 1812
In the war of 1812 the British fought the Americans. At the end of the war there was a treaty. This made other countries acknowledge America as a county and made American recognized.
