Columbus tried to sail to India but landed in the Americas. There was more land for Europe to explore and inhabbit. -
Jamestown founded
English sailed to James town in hopes of a better life. Helps us to learn new ways of life from past mistakes. -
Pilgrims land in Plymouth
In 1620 a group of Pilgrims boarded the Mayflower to sail to the mouth of the Huddson river for a new life with land and riches awaiting them. This wasn't easy so it taught people to work together and create new ways of life. -
French and Indian War
British and Frecnh both wanted more land and the Americas. Developed the Treaty of Paris and Proclamation of 1763. -
Albany Plan of Union
Benjamin Franklin purposes the idea to the colonies that they should all go under one government, but the colonies declined the offer. This was a begining step of starting democracy. -
The Treaty of Paris
The Treaty of Paris was when Paris surrendered to Britan, and Britan got the land from France. This was a very big change on the map. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was when their was no settling west of the Appalatian mountains. Forced people in to new directions. -
Quartering Act
When colonits did not pay the Stamp Act tax, the British brought in troops to watch and make sure people were paying. Now that they had the soilders they needed a place to live, so the Quartering act gave all the soilders land. -
The Stamp Act
The British needed money, because they were debt from the 7 years war. They put a tax were you had to buy a stamp with every piece of paper. Colonists did not like this and often were sneaky and did not pay the tax. -
The Townshend act
The British needed a tax on something so they placed taxes on certain goods colonies imported like candels, glass, paper and tea. This got colonists to start producing their own goods to try and avoid the tax. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a major event when the Birtish government and their colonists did not have a good relashionship, acting very violent towards each ither getting in many fights. -
Tea Act of 1773
When the East India Company started to sell tea for lower prices than they ever were before. This act was one of the things that led to the Boston Tea Party. -
Boston Tea Party
The british colonists were nit haooy with all of the teaxes on everyday items like tea, so they decided to diguise them selves as native's and broke in to the ship carrying the tea smashing open all the crates and dumping it into the harbor. This showed that no matter the price, if it was taxed the colonists didn't want it. -
Intoleberable Acts
All the Acts were the act's that the British made to have more control over the colonists. These acts were the Quartering Act, Administration of Justice Act, Boston Port Act, and the Massachusetts Government Act. -

A way to avoid all of the events that happend at Lexington concord. They wanted to try anf change things and get them back to the way the were when everything was good. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
Battle between Patriots and Britan. Contributed to the start of the American Revelution, and marked the end of the British colonist relashionship. -

Colonists argued about how the King giving them independence was just common sense. The way the King treated the colonists made them really want a change. -

Batttle between Patriots and Germany. Patriots attacked the Germans at night. Patriots won the battle. -

Battle against America and the Birtish. British wanted America's seat in government. Longest Battle of the Revelution. The American's lost to the British, but even though they lost it showed how much freedom ment to them. -
Battle of Saratoga
Battle against America and the British. British surrendored marching down the Hudson River, a turning point in the Revelution when the French joined America. America was the winner of the battle. -
Valley Forge
British raided Valley Forge's supplies, so when America came they had nothing. Birthplace of the U.S army. -
Shay's Rebellion
Shay's Rebeelion was a protest with 1,500 people. The people were protesting to stop all of the taxation that the government put on daily items. The Orginizer was Daniel Shay who participated in the protest. -
Cnongress Ratifies the U.S Consititution
The U.S accepts the Constitution to follow by for their way of government. This is really important because, it is a whole new begining for the United States a new way of government. -
Whiskey Rebellion
The Whiskey Rebellion was when the government taxed on all whiskey to get money for the new government. All of the people hated this tax and rebelled on the government. This was on of the first big things the government had to take care of as the constitution. -
The XYZ Affair
The XYZ affair was when Birtan was Fighting and America signed a peace treaty withe France to have more power aginst Birtan. They signed to help each other. Later when France needed help the U.S decided to stay nutuarl. This cauased France to loose their trust in the U.S. The U.S tried to get a peace treaty sighned with France because they were to young of a country. -
The War of 1812
The War of 1812 was when the U.S and Britan went to war after they had been mad at each other for a long time. The U.S fought them to prove that they were a strong nation. The war ended with no winner, so both countrys respected each other.
