    The French and Indian war caused Britain to be in lots of debt. Britain decided to make policies and taxes for the Colonies to follow and pay for. The colonies did not like this, so they created organizations like, The Sons of Liberty. This event lead to the American revolution because it created tension between colonists and Britain.

    The proclamation was a law that stopped colonists from going west of the Appalachian Mountains. This angered colonists because they felt it limited their freedom. This event caused tension, which lead to the American Revolution.

    The Sugar Act was a tax on sugar and a limitation on the amount of sugar someone could buy. Colonists didn't like this act, so this caused tension. This act was one incident that helped lead to the American Revolution.

    This event was a protest against the Tea Act. During this event disguised colonists snuck onto a boat, then threw all the British Tea into the water. This event cost the British lots of money, causing a lot of tension. So I believe this was the turning point, where the tension became too high to not have a war. This event also caused the British to create the Intolerable acts which only made things worse.

    These acts were strict laws that closed the harbor, forbade meeting without gov. permission, forced colonists to house/feed British Troops, and jailed people in Britain. This caused a lot of tension between colonists and Britain because the acts affected all the colonists.

    This event is considered the first fight of the American Revolution. This event caused tension because the British and colonists fought, after the British went to steal colonists supplies.
  • Olive Branch Petition

    Olive Branch Petition
    This petition was an attempt to avoid war with Britain. Though the king did not accept this from the colonists and threatened to kill the ones who proceeded. This was the last attempt to compromise, but it didn't work, so they went to war.
