A fight between the British and France took 9 years The reason for the war was to determine who has control of the North American territory. If this war never happened we might have not had to go through all the new laws and taxes they put on the colonists. -

A tax on sugar was passed to pay back the debt from the French and Indian War by the British government in the British colonies. Which also restricted smuggling and was a use of mercantilism -
The Stamp Act
The stamp act required the colonist to have to pay a tax on different forms of documents, papers, and playing cards. This was to pay back the British troops who were stationed in the colonies during the French and Indian War. -
Boston massacre
Was the turning point of the war and was caused by the patriot mob, who was throwing snowballs and rocks at the British soldiers the soldiers started to get nervous then once one fired they all fired and killed 5 colonists. -
The Tea Act
The Tea Act was when the British government put a tax on all tea. And forced them to only be able to buy, trade, and ship from one British company for delivery which also meant the British were making more money -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea party was when the Sons of Liberty who were angry at the British Government at the time for imposing "Taxation without Representation" dumped 342 chests of tea into Boston Harbor, Which made the British so angry they passed the intolerable act. -
The Intolerable Act
Laws were passed to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. They used taring and feathering as one of the forms of punishment -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
the first battle of the American Revolutionary War between British soldiers and American soldiers and helped Americans support the cause of independence. -
The Olive Branch petition
The Olive Branch Petition was the last attempt sent to King George the 3 to prevent war to be declared. It emphasized the colonist's loyalty and their rights as British citizens. But the king refused to even receive the petition which could have maybe prevented the war from happening in the first place.
