Despite having been given their freedom from slavery the African Americans were despised and still under racial slavery. Congress passed the Civil Rights Act to combat the injustices and racial discrimination. The Pacific Railway Act allowed the development of railways. Pacific Railway ran track west of Omaha Nebraska. Central Pacific Railway ran tracks east through Sacramento California. President Roosevelt had the courage to dismantle large corporations. Developed the Dept. of Commerce and Labor, Meat Inspection Act, Pure Food Drug Act., and protected public lands. Although automobiles had been around for a while Henry Ford revolutionized the industry with the development of assembly lines. He was able to manufacture the Model T.
