  • Chinese Exclusion Act (-2)

    Chinese Exclusion Act (-2)
The Chinese Exclusion Act demonstrated non progression. The Act made it illegal for Chinese immigrants to enter and live in Canada. This was during the period that the great railroad was being constructed. Because the majority of the employees were Chinese, this prohibited them from settling and visiting their families, thus constitutes racism. I selected this because it had a significant impact on Canada's population and economy, as well as discouraging newcomers. (The Chinese)
  • Conscription (-1)

    Conscription (-1)
When WWI arrived along, everyone was eager to fight. As a result, individuals were constantly enlisting for war. People became bored with the war and finally ceased joining it. As a result, the government forced anyone under the age of 45 to join anyway. The economy has suffered as a result, as have mass riots. This was included on the list because of how Canadians reacted and dealt with the crisis, as well as how difficult it was for business and work situations at the time.
  • WWI Starts (-1)

    WWI Starts (-1)
World War I  had a huge impact on Canada's development because they lost many citizens and had to spend a lot of money to pay and recruit soldiers. I included it on the list because of the economic impact of the war on Canadians, and because it impacted the number of jobs taken up by women.

When WWI arrived along, everyone was eager to fight.  As a result, individuals were constantly enlisting for war. People became bored with the war and finally ceased joining it. As a result, the government forced anyone under the age of 45 to join anyway. After that, there were massive riots that affected the country's economy.  This was included on the list because of how Canadians reacted and dealt with the crisis.
  • The battle of Somme

    The battle of Somme
This battle is included because it was the first big offensive campaign launched by the "new" British Empire forces during WWI. Tanks made their debut at the Battle of the Somme. Tactics that helped the British to win the war were created.
  • Radio and Telephone (+1)

    Radio and Telephone (+1)
Radios and telephones were introduced for the first time. The radio brought the world closer to home, while telephones allowed for long-distance connection. This is on the list because it has affected not only Canada but also many other countries.
  • The battle of Vimy Ridge (+1)

The battle of Vimy Ridge (+1)
This was recognized as a major accomplishment for Canada. Vimy Ridge was a German outpost with a breathtaking natural setting. The French and British have attempted and failed several times to seize it. The Canadians, led by Arthur Currie, seized the ridge in hours using a creeping barrage method. This received attention from other countries, demonstrating Canada's strength and fighting capability. It demonstrated the strength of the Canadians, who were a significant force in WWI.
  • Anges Mcphail (+1)

    Anges Mcphail (+1)
Women had a tremendous effect on the development of Canada in the 1920s. Previously, women were denied the same rights as males, were frequently mocked, and were viewed as workers rather than sentient individuals. However, when Agnes Mcphail was elected to the House of Commons, she improved the lives of many people.Despite being criticized, she fought for divorce and enhanced the lives of women. This is included on the list because she pushed for women's rights, which were not well received then.
  • WWI Ends (+2)

    WWI Ends (+2)
After years of combat, it was determined that an agreement would be declared, thereby ending the war. Canada was formerly a part of the United Kingdom. However, as the conflict progressed, Canada demonstrated that it is a strong and resilient nation capable of doing many things that others cannot. As a result, Canada signed the Agreement as its own country. Canada was now known over the world. It's on the list because the conflict is finished.
  • Discovery of Insulin (+2)

    Discovery of Insulin (+2)
For many years, experts assumed that some type of pancreatic internal secretion was the key to avoiding diabetes and managing normal metabolism. Nobody could discover it until the summer of 1921 when a team from the University of Toronto began experimenting with a new experimental technique. When Insulin was found, all of this was resolved. This significantly revolutionized diabetes care and saved millions of lives all around the world, because of that this is gonna be at the top of my list.
