    During this court it was contested and ensured that all students were given due process as it pertained to getting a proper education. During this time, BOE of D. Of Columbia denied students with disabilities the access to a proper education. Courts decision found that students have the right to a proper public education regardless of conditions.

    President Nixon’s administration signed a law providing protection for those with a mental disability and making it illegal for discrimination against them, whether at school or at work.
