Jack Thayer went to his cabin, put on his pajamas, and got ready for bed. -

Fred Fleet and his lookout were waiting to be relieved so that they can hop into there warm beds. -

The water compartments started to flood. -

Captain Smith gave the orders to start loading the lifeboats. -
