The Titanic was built by Harland and Wolff, shipbuilders for White Star Line. It took just over three years to build and fit out the RMS Titanic, and it took the ship less than three hours to sink beneath the North Atlantic Ocean on April 14-15, 1912. On board the Mackay-Bennett were embalming supplies, 40 embalmers, tons of ice, and 100 coffins.
