  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    The Proclamation of 1763 was put into place so that the colonists did not expand more west. They got angry at Britain for not allowing them, when they felt as if they could. So the colonist began to still move westward, and because of that Britain started to enforce more taxes.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The British had put a tax on things like sugar and molasses because they were in need of money. the colonist got angry with Britain and started to fight back. The British government knew that the prices were growing but they were fine with that.
  • Stamp Act

    The British enforced the act where they could not sell any items without buying a stamp. The colonist became very outraged because it cost to sell, and they fought back. The British started to send more military over to america to watch.
  • Townshend Act

    The British enforced a series of laws hat taxed things such as paper, glass, and tea. The colonists started to boycott British goods. They were irritated that they kept enforcing more and more laws.
  • Declaratory Act

    This act stated that the taxing authority was the same in america as in Britain. And it was also the repeal of the stamp act. The colonist were happy about the repeal of the stamp act.
