  • Sugar Act

    Actually lowered taxes on molasses and sugar, but enforced inspection laws already in place.
    Colonists boycotted British goods
    Parliament Repealed
  • Stamp Act

    All legal documents had to be printed on specifically stamped paper.
    Colonists boycotted British goods and persecuted tax collectors.
    Parliament repealed the Stamp Act in response
  • Quartering Act

    Forced colonists to house British soldiers in their personal homes during times of peace.
    Colonists refused to pay and provide for the soldiers.
  • The Townshend Acts

    Tax on the importation of glass, lead, paper, and tea.
    Reactions were much the same as the Stamp Act
    Parliament partially repealed these as well.
  • Boston Port Act

    Closed down the ports in Boston in response to the Boston Tea Party.
    Colonists protested
