  • Currency act

    Currency act

    This act was passed to help control the colonial currency system better. Colonists did not tend to like this act, just because it was not possible for them to print their own money. Even though the colonists did not like this act, the British government actually really liked this act. This is because the government was finally able to have total control over all of the currency in many colonies. During this process, the government even made some money.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act

    -It was enacted on April, 5th, 1764
    -It put a 3% tax on foreign sugar, it also raised the taxes on wine, indigo, and coffee
    -This act also banned wine and rum -The colonists decided to smuggle goods to ignore this act. However, the government liked this because it prevented people from buying foreign goods
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act

    This act was made as a tax by the British government, set to the colonies. The colonists fought to get this act gone and to get their rights back.
  • Townshed Act

    Townshed Act

    This act was created to collect money from the colonists in America. The colonists were not very happy, they wouldn't buy tea unless it was smuggled and they thought this act was threatening.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act

    It was unfavorable taxes and policies. In return, the colonists refused to unload 17 million pounds of tea off the ship. The government granted the company a monopoly on imports and tea.
