    A smallpox epidemic wipes out the Eora Aboriginal people of Port Jackson, Botany Bay and Broken Bay

    Pemulwuy was shot twice, both quite severely and survived. He was said to be unable to be killed with bullets
  • French Captain Nicholas Baudin

    French Captain Nicholas Baudin
    French Captain Nicholas Baudin and the English navigator Matthew Flinders meet at the South Australian border near Victor Harbor. Baudin had orders to study Aboriginal people for the new science of anthropology just founded in Paris.
  • Death of Pemulwuy

    Death of Pemulwuy
    Pemulwuy, a strong determind man was killed by two settlers and was sadly killed. He would always be known for survivng many gunshot wounds.
  • The beginning of the end

    It started when lieutenant William Moree opened fire on a group of about 300 aboriginals that were hunting. About 60 of them were killed. Europeans wee then authorised to shoot aboriginals, including the ones unarmed and mean no harm.

    Aboriginal school for children
    Governor Macquarie opens a school for Aboriginal children at Parramatta called the ‘Native Institution’ to “civilise, educate and foster habits of industry and decency in the Aboriginals. The local Koori people remove their children from the school after they realise that its aim is to distance the children from their families and communities. The school closed in 1820
