    Used man different compositional styles in his music. Was introduced to music at a very young age. He wrote music in the Russian, French, Neoclassical, and Serialism periods.

    A tonal style of music that is characterized by non-traditional scales like whole tone and pentatonic scales, Dissonant chords, and an overall free feel of the music.

    Maximalism

    This style consists of lots of chromaticism, large groups of performers, and a wide use of overall themes in the music. Some influential composer were Mahler, R. Strauss, and Prokofiev.

    Debussy's first modern orchestral work. Consists of an ABA form. A very poetic piece that represents many different things.

    tonality is no longer completely present in this style. The music written in this era is very atonal and does not follow the rules for chord progressions.
  • The Rite of Spring

    A ballet with music written by Stravinsky. Part 1: Adoration of the Earth, Part 2: The Sacrifice. A very controversial work that depicted very radical and modern choreography.
