Tommy Douglas made this pledge during his campaign for universal health care. Led to the implementation of universal health care in Canada in 1966, which improved the quality of life for many Canadians who could not afford health care. The implementation of universal health care made Canada a leader in social welfare and justice and taking care of citizens in poverty. I chose this quote because it is an example of Canadas humanitarianism and compassion for fellow citizens.

Immediately after 9/11, every plane in the air over North America was forced to land. More than 30 planes were forced to land in the small town of Gander, NFLD, stranding over 6000 passengers there. The citizens of Gander volunteered their time and resources to provide food, shelter, and other basic nessecities to the passengers.

Since my parents degrees weren't officially recoignized, their lack of qualifications made if difficult for them to find a good job. They both went to university at the University of Waterloo for better job opportunities. In 2006, they both graduated from the university of Waterloo with masters degrees.

After my parents finish university, we move to Mississauga. We live in a small apartment and my parents begin searching for jobs.
