    The French and Indian was was a war between the french and Native americans. The British needed money to finance the war with France. So they imposed taxes on the colonists to pay for the war. The colonists were not very happy about this. The war finally ended with a Treaty... "The treaty of Paris"

    The Writes of Assistance gave customs the right to search ships at will. It affected few colonists but merchants felt this was an invasion of their privacy. It made them very angry because they did not want random people going and looking throuhh their ships.

    The proclamation of 1763 was when Great Britain wanted to avoid conflict with Natives, so they told the colonists they could not be protected. The colonists were forbidden to cross the Appalachian mountains. This made them VERY angry. They did not understand why Great Britian had the right to tell them what to do when there was a WHOLE ocean between them. Some colonists attempted to cross the Appalachians anyways but the Britsish caught them.

    The Townshend Acts was when Great Britain created tax on various household items such as paper, glass, lead, silk, tea, and other variations of items. The colonists did not like this at all they were so angry they created a boycott through the non-importation agreement. This law was eventually repealed.
