  • Stamp act

    An act passed by the British Parliament, which states that every newspaper or any other legal documant requires a stamp. This stamp costs a lot of money. Therefor, all the colonists got angry because they don't want to pay for what they have been doing for free.

    The stamp act congress was a congress about the stamp act. The American colonist said ”no taxation without representation” which means that they will not pay the tax that the Parliament made. This had been the slogain for the American revolutionaries.
  • Townshend acts

    Townshend acts
    The Townshend acts were acts that were passed by the Parliament, stating that glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea will be taxed. The colonial reaction was the same as the Stamp act and the Sugar act. The colonists reacted by protesting. Due to the protesters, the British had to send mroe troops to America.
  • Boston Masscre

    Taxation and other issues continued to build tension between Britain and the colonies. This tension showed between the colonists and the British soldiers posted in Boston. The townspeople resented the soldiers and treated them poorly, often harassing them verbally and physically. Finaly, the tension broke off on 5, March.

    It is an act that the parliament passed, stating that the American colonists can only buy tea from the East Indian Company. The only reason they let this pass is because the East Indian Company was doing bad. This caused all of the American colonists' tea merchants to become angry against the parliament.

    The Boston Tea party was caused by the colonists who were mad at the Tea act. The Boston Tea party is where the colonists disguised as the Indians and ambushed the 3 British ships that carried tea. The colonists went on the ships and threw away all the tea inside the ships. This was lead by Samuel Adams with the sons of liberties.
  • Intolerable/coercive acts

    Intolerable/coercive acts
    The Intolerable act included the Impartial Administration of Justice Act, the Massachusetts Bay Regulating Act, the Boston Port Act, the Quartering Act, and the Quebec Act. The Intolerable acts were considered the most cruel acts of all the acts the Pariliament passed, however, these acts eventually lead up to the First continentl congress.

    As a result to day Intolerable acts, the colonists brought together a meeting to take another step into liberty. The congress was held in philadelphia. People gathered from the 13 colonies for the congress. The proposals that were passed stated that the Parliament don't have the right to tax the colonists.
  • Concord and Lexington.

    Concord and Lexington.
    The British chose to march to Concord because it was an arms depot. British troops had occupied Boston and were marching on Concord as they passed through Lexington. Most in the Continental army were the minutemen who gets ready for war in a minute. No one is still sure who fired first, but it was the "Shot Heard 'Round the World." After the first bullet has been shot, a man named Paul revere rode to the country side and warned everybody by saying "the british is coming!"
  • Battle of the Bunker Hill

    Battle of the Bunker Hill
    This is a battle between British forces, also known as the redcoats, under the command of General William Howe and the Continental army under Colonel William Prescott. The Americans had occupied Breed's Hill in Charlestown in order to protect the shipyard of nearby Boston. The next day, the British attacked to take over the hill. They succeeded on taking over the hll. They had more losses than they expected. The Americnas fought unitl they ran out of ammunition and quickly retreated.

    In this congress, the colonists created an army named the continental army. The continental army is a more organized and well armed army than it was before. Now it is lead by George washington. He had been chosen as a commander because of his experiance and reputation.

    This a letter sent to King George III by a small group of the colonists lead by John Adams as an effort to avoid war. The letter states that the colonists doesn't want war and doesn't want to become indebendant. However, the reason they are fighting is becuase there were some acts that was not acceptable as an colonist. The letter is basically asking King George III to change the incorrect and unfair governing acts among the colonists.

    Common sense is a book published by Thomas Paine. When Common sense was published, it was the best-seller both in Europe and America. Thomas Paine became internationaly famouf becase of Common sense. Thomas Paine was a solider who served in the Continental army. The book furthred the revolutionary cause.
  • Declaration of Independence

    Declaration of Independence
    Declaration of Independence is a historical document which states that the American colonists are independedn from the British government. Thomas Jefferson has been elected by the comittee to write the original draft of the Declaration of Independece. However, this document has caused both the colonists and the British to start a war.
