  • The Treaty of Versailles

    The Treaty of Versailles was an agreement made by the Allies to the defeated Germany that would hurt them and make them pay for causing the First World War.
  • The establishment of the League of Nations

    The League of Nations was an organisation established after the Great War that consisted of representatives from many different countries to help prevent wars from happening ever again. The League did however fail in its endeavours.
  • The founding of QANTAS

    In November of 1920, Australia's safest and most well known airline was established by three men, sir Hudson Fysh, Paul McGinness and sir Fergus McMaster. QANTAS standing for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services.
  • The Construction of Sydney Harbour Bridge

    In 1924, 720 houses around the Sydney Harbour were bulldozed and between 2500 to 4000 workers began work on the bridge contracted by Dorman Long & Co which took 8 years to complete.
  • The Great Depresion

    The Great Depression was a period of time in which there was an enormous drop in the Walls Street market which affected nearly the whole world as the value of shares plumeted leaving people and businesses broke all over the world.
  • The Third Reich

    The Third Reich was when Adolf Hitler, the leader of the political extremist NAZI party was elected as the Chancellor of Germany. This lead to the rise of NAZI Germany, the Holocaust and World War 2.
  • The Spanish Civil War

    The Spanish Civil War was an insurrection against the Spanish Republic lead by one of Spain's best generals, General Francisco Franco. The Nationalists led by the general fought the Loyalists who were the unions, peasants and yeomen alike for control over Spain. The Nationalists won and Francisco Franco became dictator for 36 years.
  • The Axis Formation

    The Axis Powers are known as the losing side of World War 2. In 1936 Hitler got together with the leaders of Italy and Japan (and later others) to join together with two main aims in common; to expand their territories and to destroy Soviet Communism.
  • The Hindenburg Disaster

    On the 6th of May, 1937 the L29 Hindenburg zeppelin arrived in Lakehurst, New Jersey from its 3 day trip from Europe to North America. Whilst trying to land the nose took a dive into the ground and exploded. Only 35 (+1 ground crew) people died out of 97 on board.
  • The Munich Agreement

    The Munich Agreement was an attempt between England and France signed by Hitler as well to prevent further wars. This pact very obviously didn't work.
