At the Open house Zack meets the Donelly brothers who are ghosts and want him to join them.

On the first day of school Zack bumps into the school bully who already hates him for beating up his little brother.

On the bus Zack meets a boy named Malik who the school bully also hates.

Zack and Malik find a headstone with a secret code on it. They take a rubbing of it and leave

Zack tells Azalea that he can see ghosts and she tells Ms.Dubois.

Horace Pettimore learns that the child who's body he can steal is Azalea not Zack. The reader learns Ms.Dubois has been faking being friends with Zack.

Zack and Malik decode the writing on the gravestone. The gravestone says there is treasure guarded by a zombie.

Ms.Dubois reads the letter written by Mr.Cooper saying that he could talk to ghosts through Seth Donelly and how he killed the Donnelly brothers.
