    January 1933: Hitler becomes chancellor of Germany
    Hitler was appointed chancellor by president Paul Von Hindenburg to keep him and the Nazi party in check. However this resulted in the opposite. Especially after the death of Hindernburg which lead to Hitler becoming president and eventually Führer of Germany. This event set in motion Germany's revenge for WWI by giving Hitler and the slowly expanding Nazi party that would wreck havoc in Europe.

    Hitler withdraws from the League of Nations
    Germany was still bitter over the Treaty of Versailles, the people supported Hitlers' indioendand stand. Since they associated the League of Nations with the treaty Germany withdrew from it shortly after Japan did. This caused the League to be disbanded from WWII. The fall of the League caused friction between countries to increase and was just another part of a slippery slope towards WWII.
  • Hitler signs ten year peace pact with Poland, Nazi take over of Austria is foiled, Mussolini brings troops to borders to warn Germany off of Austria.

    Hitler signs ten year peace pact with Poland, Nazi take over of Austria is foiled, Mussolini brings troops to borders to warn Germany off of Austria.
    The peace pact was made so Poland and Germany could put their issues aside for 10 years. The take over of Austria was delayed due to the Treaty and Mussolini who sent troops to prevent the union. This is significant due to the fact that this is the real braking point of Germany and Europe, this is were Hitler begins to take more drastic action to do what he wants.

    This was one of the first steps that Hitler made to prepare Germany for war to expand the land for his people. This was another way Germany was regaining its footing and power in Germany which would later lead to the second WW.

    This was a partner ship between Germany and Britain, Britain by sea and Germany through land. This also set Germany free from the Treaty of Versailles which broke down the biggest barrier Hitler had to start another war to get what he wanted for Germany.

    Germany remilitarizes the Rhineland
    After WWI the Treaty of Versailles made Germany demilitarize the Rhineland. Once Hitler came to power he violated the treaty directly and sent troops to the Rhineland. This was a huge step in to the next WW as it made France highly uncomfortable and made Germany more powerful.

    Germany occupies and annexes Austria
    After a failed attempt of Austrian Nazis, another conspiracy and a lot of political pressure from Hitler, Austria finally gave in to annexation by Germany. On March 12 Hitler sent troops to take Austria. This gave Germany even more of an edge against its enemies and even more power and resources for war.

    Hitler was confident after the annexation of Austria, so he went for more, he stated that 3 million Germans were being oppressed in Czechoslovakia. He started to partially mobilize but France Britain and the Soviet Union were ready to jump to its defense. This put Germany in a tight position and Europe one step away from war.

    Hitler and Chamberlain meet at Berchtesgaden
    Hitler finally managed to successfully persuade Britain to help them satisfy their grievances. This gave Germany even more power and helped to get its economy back in place helping Hitler get what he needs to prepare for war.
  • Hitler accepts Italian mediation

    Hitler accepts Italian mediation
    In a conference in Munich France accepts Hitler's terms and Germany takes Sudetenland. This gives Germany further advantage as their intentions for expansion are slowly coming to reality. This increases tension all over Europe making it war wary again as Germany prepares for WWII
