The Treaty of Versailles
The treaty was the end to world war one. This treaty was to punish Germany and make them hold accountable for there actions. In the perspective of France they believed Germany was responsible for every damage occurred in WWI. In response the treaty split there two countries into two separate ones. (Austria and Hungary) -
Hitler takes control of Germany
When hitler took control he quickly began to rebuild the German Army and Navy despite the treaty versailles requirements that told Germany to not have a military. Hitler had an idea that was all fascism. It all was about racism and anti-semetism. He disliked non-aryan people and people who were jewish. -
Invasion of the Rhineland
Hitler sent Nazi troops into the Rhineland(A german territory that is close to France). The french believed it was a threat to there security since it reminded them about WWI. The french government turned to Britain claiming they are not accepting the terms of the treaty of versailles. Instead of Britain confronting Hitler they appeased him hoping it would prevent another war in Europe. -
Anschluss
Hitler took over Austria(His homeland) hoping the German and Austria would unite. Hitler believed that Austria should be with Germany because of how culturally similar they are. When Hitler added Austria to his German empire it was called the anschluss. -
Munich Pact
This pact was an agreement for Britain and France to sacrifice czechoslovakia to Hitler in return for his promise to immediately stop invading other European countries. -
Invasion of Czechoslovakia
This month Hitler invaded czechoslovakia and forced that the Czech government surrender to Germany. The czech government was afraid and were preparing to fight the Nazis,however Britain and France chose negotiation. -
Nazi-Soviet Pact
There was one European nation that terrified Hitler which was the soviet union. This reason was because Stalin was the most powerful dictator who had more then enough people to create a large army. Even larger then Hitlers Nazi Army! Hitler feared and because of that he decided to sign a military alliance with stalin. This means Hitler and Stalin agreed not to invade each others countries. Secretly they also agreed to divide up Poland and invade the home to over three million Jews. -
Invasion of Poland/start of WW september 1939
Nazi Germany invaded Poland which was the spark/fire that started WWII. The Nazi invasion of poland was really significant because it shows him breaking the Munich pact and never keeping his promises. Two days later, Germany and France declared war on Germany. This happened because the treaty of versailles didn't work and so did the munich pact. World war two had begun against Germany.
