  • Sugar Act

    Taxes were put on cloth, sugar, coffee, and wine and naval officers were given writs of assistance.
  • Stamp Act

    Taxes were placed on anything paper coming into the colony.
  • Declatory Act

    The king declared that he is in charge.
  • Townshend Act

    Import tax placed on tea, paper, glass, and coloring used for paints.
  • Tea Act

    Said the only company the colonists could buy tea from was the East India Company.
  • Intolerable Acts

    The Boston Harbor was closed and Massachusetts colonists could not have town meetings without a governor there. British officials that were accused of any crime were forced to go back to Britain for their trial. Also, the colonists were forced to quarter soldiers.
  • Declaration of Independence
