    PictureThis was a war fought where the English and the American colonists fought against the French in America. In the Proclamation of 1783 the colonists were forbidden from living west of the Appalachian mountains to avoid any tension with the Native Americans. On a scale of one to ten i give the french and indian war a rating of a 6. Because this was an important battle.

    PictureThis separated the British from the Indians. The British wanted to keep the Indians from trading with them. This was also made to keep the population in areas that it was physically able to govern. I give this a rating of a 7 because this caused a lot of conflict.

    PictureAll printed documents had to have a stamp. ex: newspapers, fliers, mail.The colonists started to boycott british goods. The stamp act was later repealed because of this. I give this a rating of a 7, because prices were too high for the colonists to withstand. and i feel that they had a right to act out on their behalf.

The Boston massacre occurred when colonial protesters had a battle with British troops in Boston resulting in the deaths of five colonists. I give this a rating of an 8 because this sent out a message to the Native Americans

    pictureThe Tea Act was a new tax on tea. A group of people in Boston callled the Sons of Liberty dressed up as Mohawk Indians, and threw hundreds of tea off of British boats and into the Boston Harbor. I give this a rating of a 9 because this caused the intolerable acts to be made.

    The British were mad because of what the sons of liberty did, so they made three acts to punish the colonists. There was to be no trial of jury, colonists were forced to house and feed English soldiers, and there was to be no ships out of Boston. I give this a rating of a 6 becasue this made the colonists a payback for their deed that was done at the boston tea party.
  • The First Continental Congress

    The First Continental Congress
    pictureRepresentatives from 12 of the colonies met in Philadelphia to address the Intolerable Acts. They sent a letter to King George III asking him to repeal the acts but he refused.
  • Lexington and Concord

    PictureBritish troops believe weapons are being held in Concord, Massachusetts. The British were confronted at Lexington. The British troops defeated the colonials at Lexington adn defeated the rest at Concord

    PictureDelegates meet again to discuss the battles in Massachusetts. Thomas Paine writes "Common Sense" in which he persuades independence. Most delegates support indepenedence adn set up a committee.

    PictureWas written by Thomas Jefferson. Used ideas from John Locke and Rousseau. Jefferson believed that everyone had a right to gain independence if they put their minds to it.
