    The Proclamation of 1763 blocked colonists from expanding westward past the appalachian mountains. The colonists were very angered by this because they were looked forward to expanding west after the French and Indian War. They didn't listen to the King and they still expanded.

    The Sugar Act of 1764
    The Parliament repassed the Sugar and Molasses Act of 1733 which stated that the tax of molasses was to be lowered from six pence to three pence. Also, many other foriegn items were to be taxed. Many colonists were not able to sell their goods to markets because of this.

    This act said that colonists were not allowed to get any new bills. The colonists protested a lot and they suffered a trade deficit involving Great Britian. They felt that it would also happen with the other countries that they traded with.

    The Parliament taxed the colonists for every piece of paper they used. These included newspapers, legal documents and even playing cards. Before this, taxes were thought to keep trading under contorl. But, the Stamp Act was used to pay for Britian's debt. The colonists felt that many other acts like this one was going to be passed.

    Each colony was required to provide bedding, candles, firewood, cooking utensils and beer or cider. The colonists didn't like the costs that they had to pay for these items.

    The colonists were so angered by the Stamp Act that they decided to have a conference in New York to discuss it. They made the Stamp Act Resolves which said that they didn't want to be taxed.

    This act stated that Britian was able to tax the colonies and that the taxes that were happening in America were happening in Great Britian too. They also took back the Stamp Act because so many people were upset about it. Because of this, the colonists were happy that it was removed but they were very unhappy about how Great Britain felt they could tax them whenever they wanted. So, they protested.

    Townshend Act of 1767
    This act taxed glass, paint, lead, tea and paper. The colonies will also angered about this and they protested. This lead to the Boston Tea Party in Boston.
