After being in the army, Benito Mussolini became the editor of the socialist party newspaper Avanti.
When the First World War began, the socialist party disapproved the Italian intervention but Mussolini supported the war so he was ejected from the party.
This made him align himself with revolutionary nationalist beliefs and produced the pro-war newspaper in Popolo d'Italia. -
In 1915, Mussolini rejoined the army and served in the war before an injury sent him back to his newspaper job.

In 1918 Germany lost the First World War and had to start paying for all the damages they did and this made a lot of people think they could won the war if the army hadn’t been betrayed by politicians and protesters. For Hitler these views became obsession and this made led him to pin the blame on Jews.

After the combat squad became the national fascist party in 1921 Benito Mussolini became the Minister of Italy in 1922. Then, in 1925, he made himself the dictator of Italy and took the title of: "ill duche" (the leader).
