Colonial merchants had to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on all imported sugar and molasses. This increased the price of sugar and molasses for the colonists and disrupted the economy. This was the first law that Parliament had passed on the colonies with hope of making revenue.

This act required that all paper goods in the colonies had to carry the royal stamp. Colonists had to pay for this stamp and the British government used it to collect revenue to pay for their soldiers in the colonies. The colonists hated it and started to rebel and kill their stamp collectors.

This act made the colonists house and feed the British soldiers But the government did not pay for them like their food, water, or any other needs. This all came from the colonist. This made them very upset because they were taxed higher to have them there but also had to give up their home to them.

The Townshed Acts were a series of acts and taxes passed by the British Parliament. All goods that were brought to the colonies had to be taxed under the British Parliament. Britain ends up sending more troops to the colonies to enforce these new acts. This angered the colonists because they still were being taxed without representation.

This act allowed the East India Company ship it's tea directly to the colonies. British government saw it as forcing the colonists to accept their laws and buying the populations support. But the colonists were skeptical about this act while other were just happy that they got cheap tea.
